Mask material prices surge amid global shortage

Last month we wrote about a decrease in mask prices, something that at MiMask we have been supporting from the start. Safe, quality masks at affordable prices are part of our mission, so that everybody can afford to wear a face mask as per WHO guidelines and exchange it regularly.

Since then the futures prices for Polypropylene, the material face masks are mostly made of, have started to rise, with several suppliers seeing raw material prices double and material supplies fall short. This is leading to an increase in material prices that is likely to have mask prices rise over the coming weeks again.

At MiMask we will do our best to keep face masks affordable to all, without compromising on quality.
